Munro student dies at school
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — A 14-year-old student of Munro College in St Elizabeth reportedly died at school last night from an asthma attack.
The name of the student has not been released, however it is reported that the youngster was a boarder at the school and he died in the dormitory sometime during the course of the night.
Efforts today to get a confirmation of the incident from the principal were unsuccessful.
However, the school expressed its condolences on Facebook and asked the public to pray for the family in this difficult time.
“The Munro College family is saddened by the passing of one of Munro’s sons, an affable, well-respected, third-form student and prodigious footballer,” the school said in a social media post on their public Facebook account.
“Preliminary investigations reveal that this death is due to natural causes. The school family, with the assistance of trained personnel from the Ministry of Education and surrounding schools, is providing all necessary forms of support to the students and members of the school community,” the school said.
