HR manager vacancy at Petrojam to be filled shortly – Fayval Williams
Minister of Science, Energy and Technology
Fayval Williams says the human resource manager vacancy at the State-owned oil
refinery, Petrojam, will soon be filled.
“Over the last eight months at Petrojam,
there has been a transparent recruitment process for a new human resource
manager. We expect that [the manager] will be starting in short order,” she
said.
Williams was addressing a press conference
on Tuesday (October 8) at Eden Gardens Wellness Resort & Spa in St. Andrew.
She further explained that two directors
are being recruited to serve as part of Petrojam’s technical committee.
“The technical committee has not been fully
formed yet. We’re still canvassing different organisations for persons with the
requisite skills in the refining industry and with no ties or connection to
Petrojam,” she said.
Petrojam’s board now has eight directors,
including a representative from the Energy Ministry, Petroleum Corporation of
Jamaica (PCJ) as well as the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service.
