Petrojam to fill HR manager vacancy
MINISTER of Science, Energy and Technology Fayval Williams says the human resource (HR) manager vacancy at the State-owned oil refinery, Petrojam, will soon be filled.
“Over the last eight months at Petrojam, there has been a transparent recruitment process for a new human resource manager. We expect that [the manager] will be starting in short order,” Williams told a press conference yesterday at Eden Gardens Wellness Resort & Spa in St Andrew.
She noted, further, that two directors are being recruited to serve as part of Petrojam’s technical committee.
“The technical committee has not been fully formed yet. We’re still canvassing different organisations for persons with the requisite skills in the refining industry and with no ties or connection to Petrojam,” she said.
Petrojam’s board now has eight directors, including a representative from the ministry, Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica, and the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service.
The former HR manager at the State-owned oil refinery resigned after allegations of nepotism and controversy about the salary she was being paid.
