29-y-o St James man held with gun
ST JAMES, Jamaica — The St James police have charged 29-year-old Jeremey Williams with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
Williams, otherwise called ‘Indian’, who is from Mount Pellier in the parish was arrested Tuesday morning following a joint police-military operation along the Copperwood main road.
The police said he was acting suspiciously when security forces approached him.
According the constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit, he ran but was later apprehended and searched.
The police said one Smith and Wesson 9mm Pistol along with ten 9mm rounds of ammunition was found in the front of his waistband.
Williams is scheduled to appear before the Western Regional Gun Court on Friday, October 25.
