NWC recruits 10 engineering interns
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) says it has reintroduced its Engineering Internship Programme with the engagement of 10 engineers from various disciplines to work in different areas of the company.
According to NWC, the Engineering Internship Programme is aimed at developing and maintaining the technical skill-sets at the core of the organisation’s function and providing an accessible talent pool of technical expertise for the Commission’s future endeavours.
Speaking at the launch on Monday October 7, on the grounds of the NWC’s Training Department, President Mark Barnett welcomed and challenged the new employees to make a difference during their one-year internship stint.
NWC said the interns were this week involved in an orientation exercise designed to provide them with an understanding of the wide breadth of activities, systems, functions and departments in the Commission.
