Unbeaten
Guyana Amazon Warriors will hunt their first Caribbean Premier League Twenty20
title on Saturday at 5:00 pm (4:00 pm Jamaica time) when they tackle Barbados
Tridents in the final at Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago.
Amazon
Warriors have trampled all they have faced so far this season, including three
victories over the Tridents.
In
the preliminary round, which the Amazon Warriors topped with maximum 20 points,
Warriors defeated Tridents on September 8 by 47 runs and on September 22 by 12
runs on the Duckworth Lewis System.
On
October 6, in the first qualifier for the final, Amazon Warriors overpowered
Tridents again by 30 runs, which the latter recovered from by defeating
defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders by 12 runs to advance to the final.
Tridents,
on the other hand, won only five of their 10 preliminary round matches, as like
they did against the Amazon Warriors, they also lost twice to Jamaica Tallawahs
and once against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, to finish with 10 points.
Tridents
will be going for their second victory in the the tournament, following their
success in the second staging in 2014.
