Traffic restrictions on Camp Road over the Heroes weekend
Pipe-laying works and the installation of sewer pipes have resulted in
traffic restrictions for Camp Road, St Andrew, over the Heroes Day weekend.
According to National Works Agency (NWA) communication and customer
services manager, Stephen Shaw, the restrictions would begin Saturday at 8 a.m.
and end at 6 p.m. on Monday, Heroes’ Day.
On Saturday, the Camp Road/Arnold Road intersection will be closed to
vehicular traffic up to 6 p.m., which is to facilitate the installation of
sewer pipes.
On Sunday and Monday, the section of Camp Road between Jamaica Defence
Force’s (JDF) Cotton Tree Gate and Arnold Road will be closed to vehicular
traffic, which is to facilitate the connection of fire hydrants to the newly
installed water main.
The NWA said that the US$2.2m roadwork is about 65 per cent complete.
The work also includes construction works on a boundary wall at Up Park Camp’s
new Arnold Road entrance, as well as the JDF’s sentry building.
