BUZZ Poll: Miss Lou and Bob Marley as our next national heroes
BUZZ readers have spoken and they want either cultural icon Miss Lou or reggae legend Bob Marley to ascend to the rank of National Hero.
The BUZZ team ran an online poll last week to gauge how our readers felt about any new additions to Jamaica’s highest class in terms of national honours.
Since then, the feedback has been great and coming out jointly on top with responses tied were singing great Robert Nesta Marley and cultural ambassador Louise Bennett-Coverley. Former Prime Minister Edward Seaga finished third in the poll and the remaining readers contended that we had enough already.
While we expect that the joint select committee of Parliament would have to look at any new additions, we believe that our poll is quite credible and can provide guidance in this regard.
