Another successful staging of the Port Royal Seafood Festival
Broadcaster Jennifer ‘Jenny Jenny’ Small is in high
spirits, as she managed to pull off another successful staging of the Grace
Tropical Rhythms Port Royal Seafood Festival.
Held last Sunday at the Port Royal Football Field,
the event attracted a large number of patrons, including an increase in
children.
“We have achieved our objectives, and what is
good is that we had a lot of children this year. We get the whole family, and
everyone comes out to have a great time,” said Small.
Now in its 16th year, the Grace Tropical Rhythms
Port Royal Seafood Festival has become a staple on the calendar of events
traditionally held over the Heroes Weekend.
“What a fantastic sweet 16 this has been! The
highlights for me was the bingo. We ran out of chairs because it was so well
supported. The Grace Kitchens Celebrity Cook-off was another highlight.
The participants had a lot of fun,” Small continued.
RJR Gleaner Group’s head honcho Gary Allen won the
Grace Kitchens Celebrity cook-off, beating out five other participants. Media
personality Debbie Bissoon finished in second place while selector and
choreographer Trippple X took third place. The other participants were
broadcaster Wesley ‘Burgerman’ Burger, social media influencer Jehneel and
actor/singer D Burnz.
“The cook-off was nice, you nuh. A from Grade 5 we a cook Sunday dinner, and this was a lot of fun. The friendly rivalry was also good,” said D Burnz. His meal was Grace coconut curried jack mackerel.

Bissoon was also upbeat about her participation.
“I’m from Clarendon and as a middle child,
everyone looked at me to do the cooking. I’m very happy to be here, and the
experience was great,” said Bissoon.
Throughout the day, patrons enjoyed delicious
seafood dishes from various vendors, while the children had fun on various
rides.
As the sun began to set, entertainment on the main
stage kicked off with gospel singer Carey Sayles who blessed the venue with a
spirited performance.
Other performers throughout the imcluded included
Zagga, Nadine Sutherland, Govana, Chi Ching Ching and Louie Culture.
