Diamond Mile field coming together

The list of the final 16 runners in this year’s Diamond Mile is taking shape following the running of the last two race days on Saturday, October 19 and Heroes’ Day, Monday, October 21.

Fayrouz, Bruce Wayne, Dontae, Tricky One and Houdini’s Magic, all from the camp of leading trainer Anthony Nunes, earned in their Open Allowance contest on Monday.

Of the lot, Houdini’s Magic is the only one who has a confirmed place in the Diamond Mile, which carries a maximum amount of 16 starters. So far Fayrouz, Bruce Wayne, Tricky One and Dontae are on the also eligible list at this time.

The latest entrant to the list of 16 possible Diamond Mile starters is Summer Sun trained by Wayne DaCosta who emerged on the list for the first time.

Summer Sun emergence came after victory on Saturday at the Overnight level over nine furlongs and 25 yards. Also earning in that race was Uncle Vinnie who has now confirmed his starting stall position in the Diamond Mile.
