Macka Diamond to perform in Costa Rica for the first time this weekend
Dancehall
artiste Charmaine Munroe, who is known in the music fraternity as Macka
Diamond, can now add another first to her long list of career accolades.
The female entertainer
is set to grace the stage at Reggae Lovers in San Jose Costa Rica on Saturday
night.
Macka, who has travelled the world extensively during a career that has spanned almost three decades, sees this Costa Rican debut as a testament that her efforts to continue recording dancehall music is definitely worthwhile.
“Costa
Rica has reached out numerous times to book me, but it just never materialised.
But nothing happens before it’s time, and I believe now is the right time,”
said Macka, whose dancehall hit Dye Dye was also recorded in Spanish.
When Macka
returns from Costa Rica next week, she will shoot the music video for Cucumber.
It will be directed by Terminal 4 Media.
After that, she will leave Jamaica to embark on her North American Cucumber Promotional Tour. The artiste already has confirmed dates in Toronto, Canada, and multiple stops in the United States.
