NWA activities in Dean Pen, St Mary to impede traffic this Sunday
ST MARY, Jamaica — The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists to expect possible traffic delays along the Highgate to Palmetto Grove roadway in St Mary on Sunday.
NWA said this is as a result of works to replace a defective storm water culvert at Dean Pen between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
Manager, Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw said once the activities to install the new culvert begin, the movement of traffic in the area will be restricted.
The project, which started on November 4 and is expected to be implemented over a six-week period, is aimed at improving deficient drainage features, removing soft spots and repairing the worst affected sections of the roadway with asphaltic concrete overlay.
NWA is reminding motorists who plan to use the affected sections to obey the posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons.
