KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) says it has resolved the accommodation issues that faced the national senior team delegation when they arrived in Antigua on Monday.

The JFF, in a statement a short while ago, explained that “the initial hotel chosen for accommodation came well recommended but it was learnt that current renovations had made many of the available rooms inappropriate and a health risk.

“On hearing of the conditions and the dissatisfaction of the players and staff, the president immediately instructed that an alternative hotel should be secured. This was done and reports are that the delegation is now settled in the Verandah Resort and Spa.”

The Reggae Boyz refused to suit up for a training session early this morning, citing the unsatisfactory conditions of their rooms at the Starfish Halcyon Cover Resort on Antigua’s north-western coast as they prepare for their Group C League B Concacaf Nations League (CNL) match against the hosts.

Besides the aged furniture and malfunctioning equipment at the property, team doctor Bersha Cole claimed he had found situations that could present health risks.

The JFF, in its statement, apologised to the delegation for the inconvenience and embarrassment.
