Coke High qualified for the final of the ISSA/Wata Ben Francis Cup schoolboy

football knockout competition as they defeated Manchester High 2-1 at Juici

Field on Friday.

28th-minute strike by Dane Golding gave Manchester the lead, which

was cancelled by Kamani Case’s 50th-minute goal, with Shamar

Robinson winning the match for BB Coke in the 76th minute from the

penalty spot.

Manchester controlled the action for most of the first half and took the lead when BB Coke’s custodian spilt a ball that he should have been easily collected, and Golding pounced, to stab the ball into the back of the net.

Half-time talk

BB Coke, inspired by the half-time talk, returned for the second half on the attack and immediately found the equaliser when Case fired a curling free-kick directly in front of goal just outside the 18-yard box, over the Manchester wall and out of the reach of the goalkeeper Kevin Dixon.

Robinson

won the match when BB Coke was awarded a controversial penalty after goalkeeper

Dixon went for a ball that was crossed into the box and collided with BB Coke’s

goalscorer, Case.

Dixon

had to be substituted after receiving a head injury and Robinson fired past the

substitute custodian.
