Boyz lead Antigua 1-0 at half-time in CNL contest
LONG BAY, Antigua — Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz were leading Antigua and Barbuda 1-0 at the half-way mark of their Group C Concacaf Nationa League B match at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium here a short while ago.
Jamaica’s goal was scored by Costa Rica-based Maalique Foster, who stabbed home from close up in the 34th minute.
While the game lacked spark for the most part, the Boyz were in control of the flow and had the better scoring opportunities.
The Jamaicans earlier threatened the Antiguan goal with efforts from Bobby Reid, Je-Vaughn Watson and goal-scorer Foster.
Jamaica, who lead the group with maximum 12 points, need only a draw from this contest to gain promotion to the Concacaf Nations League A and earn direct qualification to the Concacaf Gold Cup 2021.
