When Ochi got ‘Drenchhed’
Promoter of Drenchhed, ZJ Nova, is pleased with its first Ocho Rios staging which took place at Bay Beach on November 3.
“The turnout was good for a first staging in a new area. The patrons came out early and partied from day straight into night,” ZJ Nova, whose given name is Chantele Roye, told the Jamaica Observer.
For the past seven years, the foam and water party was held in Junction, St Elizabeth.
“The feedback has been overwhelming. The amount of traction we have gotten over social media alone has been amazing. People are tagging the page in posts and saying they can’t wait for the next staging. It’s definitely a party people are looking forward to already,” she said.
Besides ZJ Nova, music was provided by deejays Nicco, Illusion Sound and A-team.
Ocho Rios is known for hosting some of Jamaica’s most popular parties, especially around Easter and Heroes’ weekends. ZJ Nova said St Ann welcomed her team with open arms.
“They were very receptive; a lot of promotion was done in the area so on the day they came out and enjoyed themselves,” she said.
The promoter is already planning a return visit.
“Everything about this staging was amazing, from execution to partying, so we’ll definitely be bringing it back next year November,” said ZJ Nova.
