‘Brand new Clarks pon foot’ in Jamaica, but footwear brand to close several stores
Clarks might be the
footwear of choice for many Jamaican men, but the shoe brand is set to close a
number of its stores as it tries to reverse losses.
The popular UK-based
brand plans to close several of its 1,000 stores worldwide over the next five
years as it tries to restructure is loss performing operations.
The news of the
closures comes after it was disclosed that the only remaining factory in
England will be closed. However, production will continue in other countries.
This moves also comes
following the closure of 18 loss-making stores in the UK in recent times.
Clarks has been
selling shoes for more than 194 years and has become a firm favourite for many
persons, especially people living in Jamaica.

Clarks shoes back in the limelight[/naviga:li][/naviga:ul]
This popularity has
been seen with the release of Clarks by Vybz Kartel, Popcaan and Vanessa
Bling (formerly Gaza Slim) in 2010. The love for the brand was also seen earlier
this year when Jahvillani released Clarks Pon Foot, a song that got the
attention of the brand, as it was posted on their Instagram page during the
summer.
We do hope Clarks
manages to get things in order because we know how much Jamaicans love the
brand.
