JLPConference: Labourites observe 2 minutes of silence for Seaga
KINGSTON, Jamaica — As anticipated, thousands of frenzied supporters of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) are now crammed inside the National Arena in Kingston for the party’s 76th annual general conference.
Hundreds more are gathered outside on the grounds of the arena, where the conference is being staged under the theme “Building Jamaica”.
Teary-eyed labourites a few minutes ago observed two minutes of silence for party stalwart and former and fifth Prime Minister of Jamaica Edward Seaga who died on his 89th birthday in May.
A unique feature of this year’s conference is backstage interviews with noted Members of Parliament and sector leaders highlighting the achievements of the governing party.
One of the highlights on stage will be special guest of the conference Grenadian Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell.
