Several activities planned for ‘Police Week’
A number of activities are being planned for Jamaica Constabulary Force’s (JCF) Police Week, which will run from Monday until next week Sunday.
The
week will commence on Monday with commanding officers participating in devotion
at schools across the island, while head stations will accommodate the public
to better understand police and the work they do.
The head stations are: Savanna-la-Mar – Westmoreland; Lucea – Hanover; Freeport – St James; Falmouth – Trelawny; St Ann’s Bay – St Ann; Port Maria – St Mary; Port Antonio – Portland; Black River – St Elizabeth; Mandeville – Manchester; May Pen – Clarendon; Half-Way Tree, Hunts Bay and Constant Spring – St Andrew; Denham Town and Central – Kingston; Morant Bay – St Thomas; and Greater Portmore and Spanish Town – St Catherine.
On
Wednesday, members of the JCF will discuss strategies with the general public
to make the island’s communities safe.
On Friday, members of the JCF will seek to “build trust and confidence in the ability of the police to keep them safe”, when they host ‘Run-A-Boat’, a community interaction event. The week will end next Sunday with church services across the island.
