HEART to conduct investigation into HOPE programme
KINGSTON, Jamaica— The HEART Trust/NTA says it is conducting an internal investigation and audit to determine the total number of participants in the 2019 HOPE Youth Summer Work Programme who are yet to be paid.
HEART’s response comes after an article in the Sunday Observer that highlighted the plight of several youngsters, who said they participated in the programme and have not received payment.
The agency said one of the major issues which has resulted in the delay of payments has been the provision of improper banking information that has prevented direct deposits from being made.
HEART said it has been systematically contacting participants to verify banking information whenever payments have been rejected.
The agency said once the investigation and audit have been completed, it will share a detailed response.
