Chelsea Stewart, singer and songwriter out of Canada, has released her latest project, an LP and a music video that is set to reward her for the hard work she has been putting in.

The self-titled LP, ‘Chelsea Stewart’, features eleven tracks and is a melting pot of a number of genres unique to the Jamaican music scene. Ska, rocksteady, reggae, dancehall are among the genres explored on the album which only serves to showcase her versatility.

This album follows on her Juno-nominated effort Genesis and was mostly recorded in Jamaica with a lot of input from reggae Czars and Grammy winners Sly and Robbie along with songwriting support from Canadian Renee Brown.

She notes that she was grateful to have worked with these two legends and also the support of her mom Karen Stewart who has been there with her and helped to bring this new album to the world through their Baby Momma label.

Her single “Forever Your Girl” which is a ska infused track off the album will serve as the vanguard reaching out with its melodic sound. It reflects her passion for working with the older music that’s on offer in Jamaica.

Chelsea has certainly been putting in the work having won ReggaeXclusive Magazine’s Song of the year, a Trailblazer Award, a Caribbean Entertainment and Music award and is the first Canadian woman to perform on Rototom Sunsplash, the biggest reggae festival in Europe and also Reggae Sumfest.
