It’s been non-stop jubilation since the announcement that Miss Jamaica World Toni-Ann Singh has won the Miss World Pageant.

Persons the world over, but especially Jamaica, have been

sending in messages of congratulations to the singing beauty.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness was one of the first to congratulate the St Thomas native by expressing that she has made Jamaica proud and that she should continue being a fantastic role model for the young women of Jamaica.

Jamaicans have also taken note of the support from Miss Nigeria to Toni-ann with a number of persons calling it genuine and insisting that Toni-Ann should keep her as a friend.

One Twitter user pointed out that Jamaica’s cultural wear, the bandana, may have had a role to play also, as the last time Jamaica won, beauty queen Lisa Hanna had worn it and now Toni-ann.

Another glorious moment of celebration was from the “King of St Thomasâ€, dancehall artiste Popcaan, who proudly acknowledged Toni-Ann, a fellow native of St Thomas and committed his support and that of his team.

With two black women taking the respective crowns of Miss Universe and Miss World in a matter of days, this is certainly a major win not only for Jamaica but for the world.
