Breakdown of the 463 COVID-19 cases in Jamaica
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica now has 463 confirmed COVID-19 cases. There were 31 new cases in the last 24 hours.
The new cases are made up of seven who are employees of the business process outsourcing entity Alorica, located in Portmore, St Catherine, and five are contacts of Alorica employees. Nineteen cases are under investigation. Of the 31 new cases, 11 are males and 20 females.
There are now 217 confirmed COVID-19 cases related to Alorica. Their ages range from 18 to 53 years. They include 163 females and 54 males.
There are now 35 imported cases; 145 that are contacts of a confirmed case; nine that are local transmission cases not epidemiologically linked; and 274 that are under investigation.
Two hundred and seventeen (217) of those under investigation are linked to Alorica.
Most (286 or 62%) of the confirmed cases are females while 177 or 38% are males. The ages of all the confirmed cases range from two months to 87 years.
