Just when you thought that TikTok users couldn’t get enough of the Houston Hottie, a surprise release from two Texan powerhouses breathes new life to the “Savage” smash single.

Popular rapper Megan Thee Stallion just released an epic remix featuring global superstar Beyoncé and has sent the internet into a frenzy. Both artists are donating their share of proceeds to benefit their hometown, Houston, Texas, through charity organization Bread of Life, Inc.

The “Savage” remix is the follow-up to Megan Thee Stallion’s hit international phenom, Savage, from her recent project release, Suga. Female strength, and empowerment shine through on this surprise release from the Houston powerhouses. Even better news is that with this bombshell release, many affected by the coronavirus pandemic will receive some much-needed help.

The Bread of Life, Inc. was initially founded in 1992 to assist with hot meals for homeless men and women in the sanctuary of St. John’s United Methodist Church in downtown Houston, Texas.

Since its establishment, The Bread of Life, Inc. has responded to crises and disaster, including Hurricane Karina and most recently, Hurricane Harvey.  From the start of the corona pandemic, Bread of Life, Inc. services have spanned distributing 14 tons of produce, shelf-stable food, and other supplies to 500 families each week via a drive-through distribution process, delivering food to 100 homebound seniors each week, to working on hiring social workers and telehealth program for high-risk individuals to access help, and so much more. Beyoncé has also been pretty busy on the philanthropy frontline during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Flawless singer recently teamed up with Jack Dorsey through her BeyGOOD foundation to donate USD$6 million in funding to mental health facilities across the United States. Dorsey, who is most notably known as the CEO of social media giant Twitter, leads the #startsmall charitable campaign.

of the BeyGOOD and #startsmall altruistic gesture will include health

facilities supported by the UCLA. The key national partnership will also

include support from the National Alliance in Mental Illness (NAMI) in New

Orleans, Detroit, New York and Beyoncé’s hometown of Houston, Texas. The

monetary commitment will go towards mental health support and personal wellness

care, including testing and medical services, food supplies and food

deliveries.

“The virus is killing black people at an alarmingly high rate here in America,” said Knowles-Carter in a video speech during the “One World: Together At Home” concert hosted by Global Citizen and the World Health Organization (WHO) on April 18. That same week, Beyoncé also made a surprise appearance to pay a heartfelt tribute to healthcare workers on the Coronavirus frontline, in the recently-aired Disney Singalong’s Magical Moments television feature where she performed a dreamy rendition of the Pinocchio classic When You Wish Upon A Star.
