Man charged with breaking into school, stealing trophy
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The police have arrested and charged a man with breaking into a high school in Manchester and making off with several stolen items including a trophy on Saturday.
He has been identified as 23-year-old Ransdel Rhlye of New Green district in the parish. Rhlye has been charged with larceny and school breaking.
According to the police, a watchman heard a noise coming from a section of the compound and went to enquire. He said Rhlye and another man were seen in the staffroom but they managed to escape.
The incident occurred around 2:00 am. The police said several items were stolen; however, the value of the items is not yet determined.
Following investigations, the police said Rhyle was apprehended and his home was searched. The items, including a trophy belonging to the high school, were found in his possession, the police said.
