Striking gold! Popcaan gets RIAA certification for 500K copies sold
Popcaan has been rewarded for his hard work in the music industry after earning his first RIAA gold certification.
The certification is for the track I
Know There’s Gonna Be (GOOD TIMES) by Jamie XX, which features the vocal
talent of the OVO signee and hip-hop star Young Thug. The
song was officially released in 2015 and was a part of the album In Colour.
The track was certified gold for combined sales and streaming data of
over half a million units in the United States by the Recording Industry
Association of America on March 3
It is also featured on soundtrack for the popular video games NBA Live
16 and NBA 2K17. The official music video has received over 19 million views on
the streaming platform YouTube.
Popcaan is one of the most-sought after collaborative artistes in
dancehall, recently recording with top-selling group Maroon 5 and rapper Dave
East.
