Fulham take on Man City in David and Goliath clash

As Chelsea seek to continue unbeaten run under new manager — JustBet offers Leeds at $4.60 to beat Chelsea

After being ambushed and dispatched by city rivals Manchester United last weekend, champions-elect Manchester City turn their attention to relegation strugglers Fulham tomorrow.

EVENT # 1 – EPL – LEEDS VS CHELSEA

Chelsea will be looking to continue their excellent form when they visit the exciting Leeds United tomorrow for what should be another exciting Premier League game.

Leeds will be aiming to make amends for their unlucky 0-2 loss to West Ham in midweek after having two early goals disallowed by video assistant referee (VAR). Leeds have been one of the most exciting teams to watch in the Premier League this season as they play an all-action style of football under highly rated Argentine coach Marcelo Bielsa. They have had an up-and-down season so far, and, as a result, they sit 11th in the table ahead of Chelsea’s visit. Monday’s 0-2 loss to West Ham was the fourth league defeat in their last five, the only victory during this run being a 3-0 win against Southampton. The visit of Chelsea isn’t one Leeds would be looking forward to as they are winless in the last five head-to-head meetings against Chelsea and haven’t scored in three of their last four league games.

Chelsea will be confident of continuing their push for a place in Europe next season and a place in the top four with another victory against a Leeds side who have lost eight of their last 12 matches in all competitions since the start of the year.

Thomas Tuchel’s appointment has proved to be a master stroke for Chelsea and Monday’s 2-0 home win over Everton made it 11 games without a loss since the German coach took over the hot seat at Stamford Bridge. The most important aspect of this 11-game unbeaten run for Chelsea has been the defensive performance of “The Blues”, who have kept nine clean sheets and conceded just two goals.

KEY STATS

Leeds – have lost just one of their last nine Premier League home games against Chelsea (W5 D3), with this the first such meeting since a 1-1 draw in December 2003. Leeds have also lost consecutive Premier League games for the fifth time this season, though they are yet to lose three in a row so far. They last lost three consecutive league games in November 2017.

Chelsea – have lost away to a promoted club in each of the last three Premier League seasons (Newcastle 2017-18, Wolves 2018-19, Sheffield United 2019-20). They have never done so in four consecutive campaigns in the competition, already drawing at West Brom and winning at Fulham so far this season.

Both sides – won their last away game against Leeds, winning a League Cup tie 5-1 in December 2012. They have never won consecutive away games against “The Whites” in all competitions before.

The betting tip. Chelsea win & both sides to score.

Event # 2 EPL – Fulham vs Manchester City

Fulham and Manchester City go head-to-head in a David vs Goliath clash at Craven Cottage tomorrow, with both sides heading into the game with contrasting results from last weekend.

Fulham looked massively out of their depth at the beginning of the season, but have since found their footing and are in great form ahead of this vital clash. Fulham strode into Anfield last Sunday and shocked the defending champions beating them 1-0 to hand the Reds another shameful loss and a sixth-straight home defeat.

However, despite that historical win they remain in the relegation zone. “The Cottagers”, Fulham, have won three of their last six games including away wins to top four hopefuls Everton and Liverpool, but Manchester City will prove a much bigger threat to them than their previous rivals.

Manchester City, on the other hand, who were ambushed and humbled 0-2 by Manchester United last weekend. The loss to Man United ended City’s brilliant 21-game unbeaten run in the league and the light blues will hope to get back on track against a Fulham side that have not beaten them in their last 13 meetings. More worryingly for Fulham, Man City have won each of their last seven head-to-head meetings against them and after suffering that loss to United, they will be eager to get back to winning ways albeit against a side that haven’t tasted success against them in their last 13 meetings.

KEY STATS

Fulham – are winless in their last 13 Premier League games against Man City (D3 L10) since a 3-1 away win in April 2009. They have lost the last eight in a row by an aggregate score of 23-3.

Manchester City – have lost just one of their 13 Premier League away games against Fulham (W7 D5), going down 2-1 in November 2005 under Stuart Pearce. Also, Manchester City have won their last seven Premier League away games by an aggregate score of 19-3. Indeed, “The Citizens” have lost just once on the road in the Premier League all season (W9 D3).

Both sides – Manchester City have won their last six meetings with Fulham in all competitions by an aggregate score of 18-0. Only against Wigan (7-), between 2010-2013 have they had a longer winning run without conceding a single goal.

The betting tip. Man City Win.
