Hype Type shoots My God Love Me video
Dancehall artiste Hype Type is set to release the video for his much-talked-about single My God Love Me.
The Florida-based deejay flew in to the island recently to shoot the video for the song that was inspired by the death of his mother, Beverly Larmond.
The video, directed by top-flight director Nordia Rose, was shot at various locations across the island, including Gordon Town in St Andrew, Royal Flat in Manchester, and Ruthven Road in Kingston.
“I’m very excited because we’ve put a lot of work into the production of this video. I can’t wait to see the final edit. I know it’s going to be fantastic,” said the artiste.
The video will be released later this month, and Hype Type is confident that it will help boost the popularity of the single.
“We’re in a new era now, musically and otherwise. We cannot rely on radio play alone to ‘buss’ a song. Visuals are important for promoting your music on TV and social media. My song is getting a lot of airplay all over the world. I’m going to keep the momentum going with the release of this video,” he said.
While Hype Type was on the island he also shot a video for a previously released single, Rasta Mentality, is scheduled to be released in April.
Hype Type also plans to release several new singles, including Press Along on the Queste imprint, Closer Than A Brother on the DGP label, and You’ve Got To Move on the DJ Mention label.
