Why delay reopening?
Dear Editor,
The following is an open letter to Andrew Holness, prime minister of Jamaica
I cannot say it too often that Jamaicans everywhere must be proud of their prime minister, who is second to none, and perhaps number one in the world consistent with many other Jamaicans.
You gave credit to your father for your intellect and it is not surprising, because I have always stated the fact that the bull determines the breed — all the better, though, if the cow is of high pedigree.
I turn to your announcements effectively reopening the economy, which was absolutely necessary. I know that, though the buck stops with you, you would have been guided by the Cabinet and health officials. And, the opening of the economy, even with limitations, is a good thing. But it is well known and said that if you are going to do a good thing do it now, don’t wait until tomorrow, so why wait until July 1 for the measures to have effect? Did your research indicate an immediate change would hurt?
