Did D’Angel score a modeling deal?

Did D’Angel score a modeling deal?

Fans of Jamaican entertainer D’Angel are speculating that she may have inked a modeling deal which is the main reason for her trip to Atlanta.

The I’m Blessed singjay arrived in the United States days ago and has been performing at small venues and chatting it up with reality TV star NeNe Leakes.

But her trip to Atlanta may be for a greater cause. In an Instagram Live today, D’Angel told fans that she has big news to announce on Friday.

“Today is one of the most important days of my life,” she said. “I won’t tell you what is going on, I will show you what is going on very soon…”

She added that she may go Live to make the big reveal.

“Mi nuh want unno miss out, I swear, because everybody happy fi me. Everybody always a root fi me inna dah capacity deh so it’s finally happening and I’m just giving God thanks. I’m so elated, I got the best news ever… Big up unno self fi always a talk (about) it, always a put it into the universe, unno always a say it pon mi page and it’s finally happening. It’s finally manifesting.”

The comments were filled with users taking their guess at what it could be. Some guessed a modeling or acting gig which holds weight based on the rave reviews she has received over the past year for her OnlyFans photos and online skits. Modeling is also not new to the ‘long and lean doll’ as she ventured into the industry after relocating from Spanish Town to Kingston in the late 90s.

Others wondered if the news surrounds a recording contract with a US label which is fair enough when considering D’Angel’s Grammy aspirations and pending debut album. Some claimed she’ll be tying the knot but D’Angel has often said she’s not focused on relationships.

Whatever it is, she promised that “it’s gonna be something personal for us.”

There’s also a financial benefit.

“Mi pray morning, noon and night. Mi pray cause mi have mi son fi tek care a. Mi have mi son fi put through college. Mi have mi youth and mi family so mi know God did a go answer mi prayers and mi have mi talent weh God give mi and mi never bury none a mi talent…so opportunity nuh haffi come?”

Women in Jamaican music have been winning over the past two years with Shenseea signing to Interscope Records, Koffee signing to RCA Records, Sevana and Lila Iké landing a partnership with RCA and Six Course Records, and Jada Kingdom recently inking a deal with Republic Records.

Record contracts aside, some of these women have had other partnerships with popular clothing brands, beverage companies and credit card giants.
