One on One: Catching up with Uncle Charlie
American singer Charlie Wilson touched down in Jamaica recently, his first visit to the island since 2015 when he performed as a headline act at the Jazz and Blues Festival.
Although it’s been seven years since he set foot on Jamaican soil, Wilson admitted that the island has been constant on his mind. From the food, to the people to the music, the entertainer said a longingness for the one of a kind local culture heralded his return.
And what a visit it was! Not only did the There Goes My Baby singer catch up on good food and good vibes but he also collaborated in the studio with Jamaican music great Beres Hammond. Describing their collaboration as the perfect blend of reggae and RnB, Wilson said the single is something to look forward to as he hopes to tap into the reggae market.
Spilling all the musical beans this week on One on One, Uncle Charlie talks about his project with Beres and so much more.
