Jahman calls for peace
Reggae singer Jahman is concerned about the ongoing crisis between Russia and Ukraine. On his latest single War is On the Go he makes a passionate call for peace and a resolution.
“The song was inspired by the Soviet Union’s invasion of Ukraine along with the modern-day human being in power who thinks that he is better than the rest of mankind,” said Jahman.
War is On the Go is produced by Christopher Meredith and was released on April 20, a date that is recognised globally in celebration of marijuana.
“My thoughts are that war should never but only be your last resort and if [engaged in], it’s only to save the human race. Communication is the key to any situation, and most importantly, love conquers all,” Jahman reasoned.
The St Thomas, Virgin Islands-based artiste says he is encouraged by the response to the song.
“The feedback has been excellent. A lot of people are loving it,” said Jahman.
The artiste, who made his way to the number eight spot on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart in 2018 with the album Altitude, is gearing up to share the stage with iconic Jamaican reggae artistes on next weekend’s staging of Reggae Night at the St Thomas, Virgin Islands, 70th carnival event.
This is not the first time that Jahman is performing at this event.
He said, “It’s an annual festival that is kept during our carnival and which I am proud to be a part of. I am looking forward to getting back in the groove, with the opportunity to connect with people through music. I am to inspire the fans with heart-warming music to touch their souls.”
