Model Million has the look
Model Million aspired to become a fashion model during her high school days at St Hilda’s High School in Brown’s Town, St Ann. After she migrated to Canada some 20 years ago, she studied fashion coordination and styling at Ryerson University.
But music wasn’t something that she planned to pursue professionally.
“I went to a studio one day and I met a singer who was from Jamaica. He was the one who drew me to music. One day he asked me to do an intro on a song that he had recorded and it sounded good, and that’s when I started to do music right after that,” said Model Million.
Her self-titled single was released last summer.
In the song, Model Million talks about her physical assets.
“I think a lot of people appreciate the eye candy in the video and I am coming to make a statement. In the song, I am talking about myself and the assets that I have. Everywhere I go, I get compliments. I’m an independent female,” she said.
Originally from St Catherine, she relocated to Kingston and later to Ocho Rios before making the move to Quebec in Canada, where she learnt to speak French.
“I’m bringing a different sound to the music, but I am doing it for the love. The journey has been a tough one and its hard to get in. It’s also hard for people to respect what you do, but I’m not going to give up,” said Model Million.
