Police seize over 90 pounds of ganja downtown Kingston, two men arrested

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Two men were arrested by the Marine Police after they were seen preparing ganja for export near the Kingston Wharves in downtown Kingston on Sunday, June 5.

The men were arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana, dealing in marijuana, and taking steps to export marijuana.

Reports for that about 11:30 pm, police were patrolling the area when the men were seen in a canoe. The vessel was searched which resulted in 91 pounds of marijuana, tools, dive tanks along with other diving gear.

Both men were taken into custody, however, their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
