May Traffic Report
Sangster International Airport (SIA) is reporting a 70 per cent year-over-year growth to 365,600 terminal passengers for May. This performance slightly lags behind the April 2019 figures of 365,900 passengers. Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) recorded a 94 per cent increase in air traffic to 115,300 passengers for April. SIA’s year-to-date traffic of 1.70 million passengers is 150 per cent higher than the 677,200 passengers in January – May 2021, while NMIA had a 128 per cent increase in year-to-date traffic of 500,300 passengers.
May Performance
Mayberry Jamaican Equities Limited was the best-performing stock in May as it rose by 22 per cent from $11.93 to $14.51. Mayberry Investments Limited, Medical Disposables and Supplies Limited, Seprod Limited, JFP Limited, Eppley Limited, Stationery and Office Supplies Limited, and SSL Venture Capital Limited (SSLVC) were the other best-performing stocks in May.
ISP Finance Services Limited was the worst-performing stock in May as it declined by 24 per cent from $29.49 to $22.50. Everything Fresh Limited, Key Insurance Limited, KLE Group Limited, Sygnus Real Estate Finance Limited (SRFUSD), Dolphin Cove Limited, Main Event Entertainment Group Limited (MEEG) and Wisynco Group Limited were the next set of stocks showing big declines in May.
iCreate is the best-performing stock year-to-date as it remains up 295 per cent at $3.08. FosRich Company Limited, Tropical Battery Company Limited, Future Energy Source Company Limited, SSLVC, MEEG, 1834 Investments Limited and Supreme Ventures Limited are the other stocks showing good performance year to date. ISP Finance Services Limited is the worst-performing stock in 2022 having declined 41 per cent since the start of the year. tTech Limited, Mailpac Group Limited, The Limners and Bards Limited, NCB Financial Group Limited, SRFUSD, Jamaican Teas Limited, and Pulse Investments Limited are the other stocks showing big declines year to date.
Market Sales and Events
A connected party of Supreme Ventures Limited purchased 123,526 shares while a related entity purchased 100,000 shares between May 26 to 31. A senior manager of Spur Tree Spices Jamaica Limited sold 150,000 shares on May 17. An executive of Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited (SJ) was issued stock grants of 6,956 SJ shares under the company’s long-term incentive plan. A director of Jamaican Teas Limited sold 15,382,937 shares at $3 for a consideration of $46.15 million on June 3. A connected party of Elite Diagnostic Limited sold 1,853,557 shares for a consideration of $6.12 million between June 3 to 6. One director, three executives and 10 senior managers of Wisynco Group Limited purchased 2,104,000 shares under the company’s long term incentive plan on June 8. A connected party of Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited purchased 100,000 shares on June 6 and another connected party purchased 100,000 shares on June 7.
Following the resignation of Junior Levine as the chief financial officer of Paramount Trading Limited, Dr Jacqueline Leckie-Johnson has been appointed to the role effective July 1. She also has been given the role of chief digital strategist. Jodiann Buckner-Nattoo has been onboarded as the plant manager for the company.
Radio Jamaica Limited’s 2021 audited financials have been delayed and is expected to be submitted by July 14. The company is pursuing the extension under the 45-day timeline offered by the Jamaica Stock Exchange.
Kisha-Ann Brown has been appointed as the head of human resources of Wisynco Group Limited effective June 14.
FirstRock Capital Holdings Limited has officially changed its name to FirstRock Real Estate Investments Limited effective June 7.
Shareholders of SSL Venture Capital Limited approved the name change of the company to MFS Capital Partners Limited at the extraordinary general meeting on June 13.
Barita Investments Limited has declared a dividend of $0.546 to be paid on June 30 to shareholders on record as of June 23. This payment totals $666.31 million.
Caribbean Cement Company Limited has recommended an ordinary resolution at its July annual general meeting to declare a final dividend of $1.5032 to be paid on August 15 to shareholders on record as of August 4. This translates to a $1.28-billion payment.
Eppley Caribbean Property Fund — Value Fund has changed its dividend policy from semi-annual to quarterly.
