Strong backing for Sunset Silhoutte in Division One run
The three-year-olds will have the opportunity to further prove themselves to their connections for possible participation in the upcoming Jamaica St Leger (July 2) with the running of the $950,000 Mr Lover Lover Trophy, a non-winners of two event divided into two sections over nine furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m) at Caymanas Park today.
Division One is positioned as the seventh event on the 10-race card with a post time of 3:45 pm, while Division Two is the ninth race with a post time 4:50 pm. First post is at 12 noon.
Sunset Silhoutte, from the barn of Jason DaCosta, is the front runner to take home the Division One trophy. Unruly Dude, Slam, and Roraima should put in strong bids also in the eight-horse field.
Sunset Silhoutte finished fourth in the 1000 Guineas way behind winner Atomica over a mile (1,600m) on June 4. Sunset Silhoutte, the bay filly should run a better race in her designated class group, with the only consideration being whether she will be effective at the trip. But she has worked well coming into this race, having galloped four furlongs on the round course in 48.0 seconds.
Unruly Dude finished down the track in the recent 2000 Guineas at a mile (1,600m) in only his second run of his career. The bay colt faces an easier assignment here and is expected to produce a better performance.
The Ryan Darby-trained Slam has already won going long (8 ½ furlongs), which is a major asset against these, plus Slam has been rested and is returning fresh and ready for battle and so he cannot be left out of consideration.
Since winning on January 29, Roraima’s form has dropped off. The Anthony Nunes trainee has been trying to catch the pace of non-two and after five attempts is ready for a breakout, with the distance to his liking.
Meanwhile, nine runners are entered for Division Two of the Mr Lover Lover Trophy with Silent Mission, Stomp The Rhythm, I Realise, and Rainsville being the main principals.
Trained by DaCosta, Silent Mission was third by 17 lengths in the 1000 Guineas on June 4. Now against easier competition and a slower pace, Silent Mission is expected to notch her second career victory.
Stomp The Rhythm has been doing well in his races so far for trainer Vincent Atkinson. Stomp The Rhythm is going to relish this extension in distance and will challenge all for the number one spot.
I Realise won the Howard Hamilton Cup over this trip on June 5. The Alford Brown trainee won by 7 ½ lengths in a time of 1:59.1 to show his improvement. I Realise will be competitive.
Rainsville comes from the stables of Hall of Fame trainer Richard Azan and this good sort who is going to enjoy the distance to the max. In his last race on May 22, Rainsville was only 5 ½ lengths behind Morimoto over seven furlongs (1400m). Rainsville should not be denied a chance in this one.
