Jamaica reports 61 new COVID cases, no deaths
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica reported 61 new cases of COVID-19 and no fatalities on Monday, according to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Health and Wellness.
This pushed the total number of cases of the virus since the start of the pandemic to 141,781 and the death toll to 3,098.
Of the newly reported cases, there were 31 females and 30 males with ages ranging from 29 days to 88 years.
The cases were recorded in Kingston and St Andrew (23), St James (12), Portland (seven), Clarendon (six), St Catherine (six), Trelawny (three), Manchester (two), Hanover (one), and St Thomas (one).
The country also recorded 129 new recoveries bringing the total number of recoveries to 90,045.
The positivity rate for the latest round of testing was 13.6 per cent. There are 135 people hospitalised, three of them critically ill.
There are 2,147 confirmed active cases on the island.
