110 new COVID-19 cases in Jamaica, one death reported
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 110 new COVID-19 cases and one death on Sunday, July 10, bringing the infection total to 144,092 and total deaths to 3,158.
The new cases comprise 60 females and 50 males, with ages ranging from three months to 88 years.
The cases were recorded in Kingston and St Andrew (28), St Catherine (27), St James (12), Westmoreland (seven), St Elizabeth (seven), St Ann (seven), Clarendon (five), Manchester (five), St Thomas (four), St Mary and Portland (three each), Hanover and Trelawny (one each).
The deceased is an 89-year-old female from St Catherine, who died in January 2022.
Her death was previously listed as under investigation.
There were 81 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 91,749.
Currently, 98 people are hospitalised, 14 of whom are moderately ill, four severely ill and one critically ill.
Jamaica’s positivity rate for the latest round of testing is 16.4 per cent.
