61-y-o farmer charged for attacking welder with jackhammer
A 61-year-old man accused of attacking and injuring another with a jackhammer in Park Hall district in Clarendon has been arrested and charged by police.
Charged with unlawful wounding and malicious destruction of property is Alric Gayle, a farmer from Nairne Castle in Frankfield in the parish. The injured man is a 43-year-old welder.
It is reported that about 10 am, both men had a disagreement which later turned into an altercation.
Police said during the altercation, a jackhammer was used to cut the welder on the left side of his face.
The welder’s iPhone 11 Pro Max, the police reported, was thrown to the ground and stepped on, causing the screen to be damaged beyond repair. Damage is estimated at $150,000.
After the incident, the welder made a report to the police and Gayle was pointed out. Following investigations, he was subsequently arrested and charged.
