If it nuh go suh…! – July 29

Girl power at World Champs

Jamaican women always seem to come through. The only two gold and six of the seven silver medals, plus a bronze were delivered by our women at the World Champs in Eugene, Oregon, putting us number three out of tons of countries on the medal table. That is real girl power! Congratulations to all the team members but especially Shericka Jackson, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Elaine Thompson-Herah.

Focus on our male athletes

Some people like to say females don’t understand sports, but I don’t get why our male athletes are performing so far behind the women. One silver in the World Champs is worrisome to me. Or were we so spoilt by Usain Bolt? My male friends say the future is looking good with some outstanding young men coming on, like Oblique Seville. I can’t wait.

No resistance for monkeypox vaccine?

It is already being said that there is hardly going to be any resistance to a vaccine for monkeypox because people, especially us women, do not want to see those ugly bumps on their faces and bodies. Maybe the people saying that are just being wicked.

Social influencing

I don’t expect the police to spend more time searching for social influencer Donnalee Donaldson than they do for other missing people. But as one of their own is implicated, it is important that they solve this puzzle as quickly as possible. It is not a good look.

Elaine Thompson-Herah
