Lue-Fung launching sales scholarship and internship programme
ENTREPRENEUR and chairman of Think Grow Lead (TGL) Duane Lue-Fung is set to launch a comprehensive programme to empower the next generation of industry leaders who may not have otherwise had the opportunity.
“This skill set changed my life. The ability to influence, persuade and convince allowed me to build a successful business and help others advance their own careers within sales. Every business survives on its sales, so knowing how to do that well makes your career options endless,” Lue-Fung is quoted in a news release.
The DLF Scholarship Programme, as it is called, is designed to give a deserving person in need access to this life-changing career path through formal training and work experience.
Part one includes full tuition coverage for the TGL School of Sales Fundamentals of Professional Sales Programme. The course is designed for people who are just entering the field as it will provide the foundational knowledge and framework necessary to compete effectively and develop quickly into a high-performing sales professional.
Part two includes an internship within the TGL Group which will allow recipients to immediately apply their knowledge within a professional setting while building their resume to jump-start their career.
“This programme is meant to be all-inclusive,” Lue-Fung said. “There’s so much untapped talent in Jamaica and so many people just in need of a start. Learning the skill is the first step but applying the skill is just as important — and I wanted to give people a place to do that so they gain a full experience.”
Scholarship recipients must be 18 to 30 years of age and will be selected based on a statement of goals and aspirations, financial need, and a personal/professional recommendation.
The application deadline is November 15, 2022 and the programme is scheduled to start in February 2023.
Applicants are asked to submit their personal information or resume, personal or professional recommendations, personal statement demonstrating goals and aspirations, as well as explain their financial need in no more than 1,000 words to DLueFungScholarship@gmail.com
