Chogo Don gets Brawling
Two years ago, Chogo Don was operating a fledgling company that provided interior design for parties in his native Clarendon, St Elizabeth and Kingston. While he enjoyed events planning, it prevented him from focusing on being a dancehall artiste.
Eventually, he made the decision to concentrate on being a deejay. Brawling is his latest single, produced by Syn Citi Entertainment, a company based in Florida.
Brawling is part of The Furnace, that label’s EP which was released in late September.
The May Pen-born entertainer told the Jamaica Observer that he was never influenced by a particular artiste, just “anybody with a story to tell”.
According to Chogo Don, “I have a lotta stories an’ want to tell dem in a unique way. Di thing is, I want to mek sure every song I do soun’ good.”
Born Carlton Brown, he attended Vere Technical High School and Ebony Grove, a private institution. Chogo Don also excelled at football, playing as a striker for Original Hazard in the major league and with New Bogues in Clarendon’s domestic league.
The Furnace is Syn City Entertainment’s third compilation, the others being a self-titled album and The Nation, which was released early this year.
