Look for a ‘Monster’ in Sunday’s Overnight
With no trophy race being listed on Sunday’s (November 20, 2022) nine-race programme, the three-year-old and upwards Non-Restricted Overnight Allowance contest at over seven furlongs (1,400m) is the main attraction on the card.
The Supreme Racing Guide takes a look at the 11 runners entered and their chances of winning the $1.14-million purse event.
1. MONEY MONSTER: (5 b g by Casual Trick – She’s Traditional) – Finished a good third when at the races on October 8 against the better campaigners around. With his well-being exposed, Money Monster, dropping down in grade faces weaker opposition, thereby increasing his winning stocks.
2. EAGLE ONE (USA: (5 b g by Astrology – Frisky Cheerleader) – Capable runner who was expected to win at this level when first dropping down to this grade on August 20. Eagle One, based on back class, should play a significant role in the outcome of this contest.
3. RAS EMANUEL: (10 b h by Burning Marque – Pleasant Princess) – Consistent ageing sort who hardly runs a bad race, despite his last two runs and been off the board. With his consistency, expect another brave effort Ras Emanuel.
4. POSITIVE ID: (4 b c by Bern Identity – Bubble Gal Bubble) – Did extremely well to reach this level. Positive ID can hit the board.
5. BIG BIG DADDY: (5 dbk h by Natural Selection – Just A Flutter) – Consistent runner who should go home earning once again.
6. JOHNCROWJEFF: (4 b c by Natural Selection – Sweetyourock) – A winner of his last two races, who enters Overnight Allowance for the first time. Needs time to assimilate to the new environment.
7. PRINCE MARSHALL: (4 ch c by War Marshall – Princess Shine) – Will need to improve a lot to have an impact.
8. BATON ROUGE: (4 b c by Natural Selection – Little Wasp) – Will find it difficult against these.
9. CHINAMAX (USA): (6 ch h by Itsmyluckyday – Aweemaway) – Is going to be left behind.
10. SIR JOHN: (4 b c by Natural Selection – Luscious) – Has no form to recommend.
11. LABAN: (5 g h by Sensational Slam – For Trixie) – Has been holding his own in recent times without actually winning. Although Laban would prefer it shorter, he should not have an issue with the distance and could be a dangerous contender.
