Police identify guards killed at CHEC, more details emerge
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Police have identified the two security guards who were found dead following a shooting at the China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) headquarters on Mandela Highway on Sunday night.
They are Brandon Triston Small, 22, from Horizon Park and Lincoln Royal, from Browns Hall, both in St Catherine. The men were employed by GYD Security company.

OBSERVER ONLINE has learnt that five guards, two of whom were armed, were posted at different areas of the compound during the shooting. Of the remaining three guards, one had been unaccounted for but has since been found alive.
Information unearthed by our newsroom is that a grey-looking station wagon motorcar drove to the entrance of the facility and was let in by Royal.
Four masked men, armed with handguns, reportedly alighted from the vehicle and made their way over to a section of the compound where Small was seated under a gazebo. Several explosions were heard shortly afterwards.
It is understood that police were summoned to the compound and found Small lying on the ground in blood outside the gazebo. He was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital by the police, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Following a further check of the compound, Royal’s body was found in the trunk of a car that he drove.
It is further understood that Small was one of the armed guards. It is uncertain if his firearm has been recovered.
