Police seize firearm, ammo found in backpack in St James
ST JAMES, Jamaica— The St James Police have arrested a man following the seizure of a firearm along with three 9mm and nine .22 rounds of ammunition on Howard Cooke Boulevard in the parish on Saturday.
Reports are that about 7:19pm, lawmen were on patrol in the area when a man was seen acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion. On the approach of the police, the man reportedly attempted to flee the scene when he was accosted and searched.
The firearm and ammunition were subsequently found in a backpack the man had in his possession.
He was arrested, however, his identity is being withheld pending charges to be laid against him.
