Made 4 U By Jan

We just can’t get enough of skin and haircare products and the never-ending trends of beauty regimens! Tuesday Style Dryer (TSD) is today rounding up a collection of natural products from local skin and haircare brand Made 4 U By Jan.

Operational since July 2021, Made 4 U By Jan offers a variety of formulas including serums, toners, moisturisers, soaps and oils, as well as specially curated kits. The brand’s principal, Janeel Jackson, told TSD, “During the product creation phase, several products were curated and specifically formulated to cater to both male and female users with various skin types. Our products are of great quality and affordable.”

And just like many other skincare enthusiasts today, who have ventured into the industry due to skin challenges of their own and wanting to help others get the relief they did, so has Jackson. “The inspiration for this skincare line originated from my experience as a child growing up, where I had severe acne outbreaks. This was mostly triggered by the fact that I had an underlying issue known as polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), which severely affected my self-esteem. However, after several years of researching how to improve my skin condition using natural products only, I was inspired to curate my own skincare line in 2019. The testing and development of the line came out successful after using a combination of all-natural ingredients and essential elements including turmeric, honey, charcoal, lavender and tea tree oils. Additionally, after conducting detailed market research, I saw that the Jamaican market was in need of my all-natural product line,” she expressed.

TSD shares tips on a skincare routine with products from Made 4 U By Jan below.

Five-Step Acne Face Kit

What you will need

• Turmeric & Honey Face Cleanser

• Charcoal Creamy Scrub

• Tea Tree Acne Toner

• Lavender Face Moisturizer

• Acne Face Serum

Steps

1. Face cleansing should be the first step in any skincare routine, as it clears away impurities and excess oil that can clog pores and dull skin. But be gentle. Apply four squeezes of Turmeric & Honey Face Cleanser into the palm. Lather hands and massage into skin. Rinse with cool or lukewarm water. Repeat this process three times for effective cleansing of the skin.

2. Apply a thick layer of Charcoal Creamy Scrub to the face and neck. Allow to sit for 5 minutes. Rinse with cool or warm water. Use twice weekly to exfoliate and brighten skin.

3. Toners are a water-based skincare liquid that’s applied to dry skin after face cleansing using fingers, a cotton ball or cloth, and before using other leave-on skincare treatments like serums and moistursers. Pump Tea Tree Acne Toner onto a cotton pad. Wipe excess dirt from the face. Be sure to use after cleansing or exfoliating.

4. Next come face moisturisers, which keep your skin soft and hydrated and help strengthen its barrier. Apply a generous amount of Lavender Face Moisturizer after cleansing the face, to restore the skin’s natural moisture. This product can be applied at any time of the day.

5. Finally, apply three drops of the Acne Face Serum onto the face (one on each cheek and one on the forehead). Massage into skin until evenly distributed. This process can be done twice daily, preferably in the morning and before bed.
