#CariftaGames2023: Jamaica lead medal table going into final day
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Defending champions Jamaica are well on their way to a 38th straight hold on the Carifta Games title as they go into Monday’s third and final day of the 50th staging with 51 medals atop the standings.
The Jamaicans have won 25 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze medals despite a series of mishaps and injuries, and could make a run at last year’s record haul of 92 medals.
The Bahamas are second with 32 medals, comprised of seven gold, nine silver and 16 bronze; followed by Trinidad and Tobago with 21 medals- six gold, six silver and nine bronze; and St Kitts/Nevis on 12 medals with five gold, four silver and three bronze.
Six countries have won two gold medals – Belize, US Virgin Island, Cayman, Guyana, Grenada and Barbados, while Dominica and Antigua have both won one gold medal.
