Three chase back-to-back wins in St James Under-13 football
TUCKER, St James — Two former champions will be among three schools that will be going after back-to-back wins in Zone D of the St James Football Association/Victoria Mutual Foundation Uplift Under-13 Competition on Tuesday at Wespow Park.
Success Primary, who won in 2017, six-time champions Catherine Hall, as well as Buckingham Primary, will seek to build on their winning starts last week.
Success Primary will face St James Prep in the first game set to start at 10:00 am, Catherine Hall take on Pinnacle Academy, while Buckingham meet Farm in the third game.
Buckingham Primary are the leaders in Zone D and are coming off a big 7-0 win over Pinnacle last week, and take on a Farm Primary team that were beaten 3-0 by Success.
Catherine Hall had beaten St James Prep and face Pinnacle Academy while Success Primary face St James Prep.
On Monday, Barracks Road and Green Pond Primaries extended their winning starts with wins over Albion Primary and Maldon Primary, respectively, while Chetwood rebounded from their opening game loss to beat Adelphi Primary.
Thisiyd Decarish opened the scoring for Barracks Road Primary in the 25th minute when he scored his second goal of the season and Shavar Blake doubled the advantage in the 38th minute, also with his second goal of the season.
Fayden Pasco pulled a goal back for Albion in the 53rd minute but Shakeem Blake restored Barracks Road Primary’s two-goal lead when he scored in the 57th minute.
A second-minute own goal and Junior Wright’s second goal of the season, in the eighth minute, carried Green Pond to a 2-0 win over Maldon Primary who had won their opening game.
In the other game Shaheem Jones’ 38th-minute goal gave Chetwood Primary their first win as they edged Albion Primary 1-0.
