GC Foster wins COA 4x200m at Penn Relays
G C Foster College added a fourth Penn Relays title last weekend after winning the College Men’s 4x200m Championships of Americas on Friday’s second day of the 127th staging of the event held at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
The team of Jhevaughn Whyte, Kadrian Goldson, Zandrian Barnes and Michael Sharpe clocked 1:23.20 minutes to beat Clemson University and the University of Houston.
G C Foster had won three titles previously: the College Men’s 4x100m Championships of Americas races in 2016 and 2017; and the Sprint Medley Relay in 2017.
G C Foster were second in the College Men’s 4x100m Championships of Americas on Saturday, running 39.45 seconds with the team of Sharpe, Javon Rawlins, Andrae Dacres and Odaine McPherson.
Houston won in 39.40, while Clemson University, with former St Elizabeth Technical runner Dashinelle Dyer on lead off, were third. University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona campus were sixth in 40.10.
G C Foster had qualified second in Friday’s heats with 40.31, while UWI Mona had run 40.55 for the fourth fastest time.
G C Foster was also fourth in the College Men’s 4x400m Championships of Americas final, clocking 3:06.36 minutes with the team of Dennic Luke, Goldson, Sage Primus and Barnes.
The team of Luke, McKish Compton, Sharpe and Goldon had run 3:13.83 in the preliminaries.
