Man who robbed Manchester store of $8 million, charged
MANCHESTER, Jamaica – A St Catherine man has been slapped with several robbery charges following a heist at a store on Manchester Road, Mandeville in Manchester on April 13.
Charged with robbery with aggravation, possession of a prohibited weapon, using a firearm to commit a felony and assault at common-law is 27-year-old Carlos Williams, otherwise called ‘Pitch’ of Port Henderson Road, St Catherine.
Reports from the Mandeville police are that about 9:36 am, Williams was among armed men, who entered the store and held employees at gunpoint, robbing them of over $8,000,000.
CCTV footage was used to identify Williams among the robbers.
He was arrested on April 16 during an operation on Port Henderson Road by detectives assigned to the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Branch and subsequently charged following an interview.
